Water for Guinea Helps Girls Like Me
Guinea in West Africa is one of the poorest countries in the world and 33% of the population lacks access to clean safe water. More than anyone else in the villages, girls like me are impacted by this problem. Each day children have to walk miles away from their villages to collect water into big plastic containers that they carry back on their heads to their homes. Sadly, this water is often unsafe to drink and causes the people who drink it to become ill. Guinea was the epicenter of the Ebola crisis and much of the problem was due to unsafe water and poor sanitation and hygiene. I want all children and especially girls in Guinea to be able to live healthy, happy lives and be able to spend their days in school rather than walking all day to collect water. If we can raise $5,000 we can drill a well and install a hand pump in a village that currently lacks access to clean, safe water. We will drastically change the quality of life for hundreds of people by bringing clean, clear drinking water to their village. Water improves, health, education and the economy. Please help me to help kids just like me in Guinea by donating to fundraising effort.
