Like so many other things this year, our annual holiday holiday community engagement and giving event will look a bit different. This year we are inviting the MCH community to come together and support those in our local and broader communities in need of food assistance. This year, we are running the program ourselves in support of Northwest Harvest, and will be collecting the items listed at that link. Starting this Friday, December 4th, we will have a food collection station set up outside the porch next to the stairs between buildings A and B, and welcome your donations of Northwest Harvest Approved food items if you are able.
As well as collecting food, we are also inviting families to support this event by helping us deliver the collected food to one of the Northwest Harvest approved food collection sites. In addition to helping us deliver the food, this is also a great way to help your child connect to our annual holiday giving, since we are unable to have the students help us in the usual way on campus. If you are interested in helping us in deliver, please reach out to our Assistant Head of School, Angela Spayde (email@example.com) and she can let you know when items are ready to be transported.
Finally, we have decided to extend this food donation campaign through the end of the school year, in June 2021. While we typically end these events at Winter Break, more families are in need due to the pandemic and all its effects. In response to this greater need, we will continue collecting non-perishable foods throughout the year, and deeply appreciate your support in this long-term plan in both donating regularly when able, as well as offering to help deliver throughout the year.
