March 24, 2019. Finished my last long training run yesterday. 20 miles! We started at the official starting line in Hopkinton and ended at the Heartbreak Hill Running Co in Newton. Pretty insane. I'll be honest, there have been times where that distance seemed impossible to me, but my running peeps kept reassuring me I'd get there eventually (thank you Kim, Regina, Sashi and my pals in Runners Up). And get there we did, and with a whole crowd of runners. What a festive day. So many runners showed up, as did all the charities they are supporting. I stopped at least a dozen tables along the way. So many wonderful causes. It made me proud to be one of the runners contributing to a great cause and the whole experience made me even more excited for the marathon. Bring it on! PS New photos are from the starting line yesterday (with a fresh inch of snow!) as well as our "finish" line in Newton in the bright warm sun.
December 2018. Welcome to my Boston Marathon fundraising page! I've never run a marathon but there's a first time for everything, right? I'm thrilled to be participating in this historic race, and I'm honored to run on behalf of my home community, Newton, and the wonderful Newton Food Pantry. NFP serves hundreds and hundreds of people in our community, and does so in such a caring and compassionate way. Each month, the pantry provides a 5+ day supply of free food and personal care products to over 750 Newton residents. Amazingly, this organization is ENTIRELY led by volunteers. Please help me support this incredible and important organization by donating today and helping me meet/exceed my goal of $6000. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, it means the world to me. And if you are in town, please come out and cheer on April 15th; would love to see your smiling face on the road to the finish line!
