Please join us in supporting Coaches v. Cancer by making a donation to the Matt Stabler Memorial Tournament. Our son Matt was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, rhabdo-myo-sarcoma, in January 2010. At that time he was volunteering for Coaches v. Cancer. It provided him the opportunity to combine his love of basketball with his desire to give back to the community. Despite his diagnosis and the odds against him, he worked tirelessly for Coaches v. Cancer through surgery and three unsuccessful chemotherapy protocols until his death on October 26, 2010. The following year we began the Matt Stabler Memorial Tournament to honor his memory and continue the fight against cancer.
This year marks the 9th annual tournament. To date, the tournament has raised almost $300,000! All proceeds from the tournament stay in the Kansas City area to help fund research and pay the expenses of families who come to Kansas City for treatment. This year the proceeds will be targeted towards children’s cancer. Cancer is a disease that has touched all of our lives. This tournament gives all of us the opportunity to contribute directly to finding the cure and helping those who have contracted this disease. Thank you, Cece & Mike Stabler
