Every student-athlete at Steel City Squash is committed to developing their academics, athletics, and character over a long term. Participants begin in the program as early as 4th grade, attending "practice" at least three days a week during the academic year, traveling with the team locally and across the country, and committing to 20 days during the summer. Programming ranges from homework assistance, individualized subject tutoring, squash and fitness training, nutrition classes, college and career workshops, and so much more.
In order to provide access to these unique resources and opportunities, Steel City Squash maintains a 4 to 1 student to adult ration. We include four full-time staff members, many partner programs, and a large cohort of volunteers. All adults that work with our students are screened and trained to make sure they are maintaining the high standards of Steel City Squash service.
All of this comes at a cost; $7,000 per student per year. We require no payment from our families and therefor rely on support from a variety of sources to provide each of our students a scholarship. This campaign will help raise one of those scholarships for a deserving student.
