Hello friends, Let me introduce you to the Jacmel Children’s Center (JCC) for those of you who may be unfamiliar with it. The JCC is an incredible home for 29 children that were orphaned during or after the earthquake in Haiti in 2010. They now live with the JCC’s parents (“Mommy Nadia” and “Pappi Etienne”) and they are provided the comfort and shelter they deserve, nutritious food, education, and most importantly a place they can call home and feel loved. I’m thrilled to announce that we have a donor that has agreed to MATCH up to $50,000 to the JCCi. I want to challenge us to see if we can, as a community, raise this amount and help provide an on-going home for the kids we have all been raising together. It took us three long years to raise the money to build a beautiful, structurally safe and expansive home for them. The children trickled in over the year after it opened. They came from everywhere... the streets, state-run temporary orphanages, even from homes where they were being abused. They were malnourished, confused, hurt, depressed, and many times utterly without any hopes or dreams. In the last several years, because the generosity of Random Acts supporters, the JCC parents and team, under Bonite Affriany’s guidance, have completely changed the lives and attitudes of these children. They sleep in warm beds in an incredibly safe house. They eat three healthy meals and have visiting doctors and dentists each month. They are learning skills and languages that will enable them to get jobs they can be proud of one day. They are in an environment of total love and acceptance. In a nutshell, they have hope and are thriving with joy, comfort, and purpose. The supporters of JCC and Random Acts should be incredibly proud that they’ve helped save the lives of these children and given them the opportunity for personal happiness and health.
Thank you for helping us with this generous $50,000 match. Individual donors who donate $5,000 or more will receive a special Thank You from Random Acts. We look forward to changing the lives of these kids, and ensuring their futures with your help and support.
