Shalom Friends and Family,
I have chosen to run for this organization to help spread awareness and support the initiative of my Yeshiva which is helping my friends and I in our efforts to serve Medinat Yisrael. I attend Yeshivat Lev HaTorah, the host yeshiva of Lev LaChayal, and I am currently participating in the Lev LaChayal program. I can tell you how incredibly devoted the staff is to all its students and soldiers, being there for us whenever we need it and for whatever we need. We learn above all the importance of being a Jewish leader and so many Lev HaTorah students rise to leadership through their service in the IDF. There is no wonder that Lev HaTorah has become the first and only yeshiva base for lone soldiers, willing to take care of all lone soldiers just as their own.
Running and raising money for a chayal home is the least I can do to give back to this program which is doing so much for me every day. Please join me to do the same and support this program for all they do for me and other lone soliders. What is a Lone Soldier?
A Lone solider is a chayal (solider) whose parents live overseas, and, as such, cannot provide a home base for their child or help maintain and strengthen his morale throughout his service. There are currently over 7000 lone soldiers. Lev LaChayal, the only Yeshiva based Lone Soldier Center, trains and cares for 35 - 40 active soldiers annually. They bring home to my friends and I with furnished, cleaned, and maintained homes that are always stocked with food. Caring mentors and Rabbanim run weekly Shabbat and Yom Tov meals, visit our bases, and run programs for us when we are off base. Our community members are also quite active in the program, bringing us extra food and providing rides to the train, all to bring home the message that Am Yisrael stands behind us.
With dreams of replicating our model and taking care of hundreds of chayalim annually with this awesome and critical model. If we own a few soldier homes, the significant costs involved in running this program will be sustainable, and we’ll be able to soar with spreading this model. We are just $250,000 away from owning our first home.
Let’s buy our first chayal home together, running and sponsoring this amazing program. It would mean so much to my friends and I who benefit from this program everyday!
