Dear Friends, Families & Colleagues,
I am a member of the Mass General Marathon Team and I will be running the Boston Marathon in April 2020 in honor of Peyton Smith.
Peyton is the son of our good friends (and our squadron commander from 2008-2010), Colonel and Mrs. Matt Smith. In June 2018, Peyton was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma while he and his family were stationed overseas in Germany. Immediately upon diagnosis, the Smiths moved back to the States, so Peyton could receive care at Mass General's Pediatric Cancer/Sarcoma Center. Peyton has shown heroic courage throughout this process and during his treatments.
Please consider donating to my campaign, where 100% of the proceeds will go towards the fundraising goal of $1,075,000 for the Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Clinic at Mass General Hospital for Children. Specifically, the funds raised will be directed to cancer care, research, and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for the hospital’s youngest cancer patients.
Should you find yourself in New England, I will be training in Jamestown and Newport, Rhode Island, where I am a student at the Naval War College
On behalf of Peyton Smith, thank you very much for donating to this incredibly worthwhile cause!
