Dear Friends, this will be my third consecutive time running the Boston Marathon as a member of the MGH Pediatric Cancer Boston Marathon team to raise funds for the MGH Pediatric Oncology fund. It is indeed an honor and a priviledge to be allowed to participate for this cause.
As many of you already know, it was the loss of one of my dearest friends to pancreatic cancer in 2015 which saw my return to the running world. I have always wondered how awful such a battle might be and what it feels to battle cancer, where your own body has set out to destroy you! And imagine what the plight is when you are but a child and have to deal with something like this!
This time, to make my effort worthy of the cause that I am running for, I have signed up to do the Boston 2 Big Sur challenge. I will be running both the Boston Marathon and the Big Sur marathon, one on each coast within six days of each other. I will be honored to put the names of people on my race day vest in tribute and remembrance if you so desire with a request that you make a donation to the fund for this. As an incentive, both the vest and the Boston Marathon medal will be framed and given to the person with the most generous donation, for yours to keep!
Both the preceding years, I have been able to surpass my fundraising goals because of the generosity of people like you. I look forward to your continued support for this cause and for your prayers and good wishes to keep me going! Over the years I have been humbled by the generosity and love of people who have supported me in my pursuit for this cause and I aim to be worthy of your support. With love and regards,
