Hi friends! My name is Shannon and I am a student in the accelerated nursing program at Mass General IHP. I am so blessed to have found a career path I am so passionate about and cannot wait to graduate next summer! Taking on the role of a nurse, I am prepared to not only provide medical care, but to support, love, and encourage patients and families during some of the hardest times of their lives. I am so honored and excited to be a part of the Mass General Pediatric Hematology-Oncology Team.
Funds raised through this team's efforts are directed to cancer care, research, and initiatives that enhance the quality of life for the hospital’s youngest cancer patients. In addition, money raised will go towards clinical studies to improve cure rates, and providing the best treatment possible to pediatric cancer patients!
As many of you who are reading this already know, my friend Janelle Tobin lost her battle to a rare bone cancer in 2018. I will be running in her honor in April. She fought each day with unbelievable resilience and the most contagious smile. While she left this earth at the young age of 22, she left behind the brightest light. While I am running as a part of the MGH team, I will ALWAYS be running for #TeamJanelle.
Running this 26.2 miles and raising money towards pediatric cancer iniatives is something I am so excited to be a part of. Thank you for reading and donating! I couldn't do it without all of you.
