I have had the privilege of running for the Mass. General Hospital Pediatric Cancer Center marathon team three times so far and I have loved each year a little more than the previous one! in 2013, a friend of mine, who works at Mass. General, told me about the Pediatric Cancer Center and their marathon team and I was immediately interested in seeing how I could help. In addition to raising much needed money to help with quality of life for patients and their families, the Pediatric Cancer Center matches up some runners on the team, with patients being treated. It's an amazing life experience to be able to meet a young person battling a horrendous disease with such courage and grace. My mom was treated at the Mass. General Cancer Center during her brief, but courageous, battle with cancer in 2003/04. I will forver be in their debt for the great care that they gave my mom. My hope in raising money this year for the Mass. General Pediatric Cacner Center team is that I can play a very small role in helping future patients make their stay as enjoyable and comfortable as possible.
