Time’s running out! How will you make an impact this year?
One theme runs through all of our work: access. Improving and guaranteeing access – to education, to justice, and to the basic necessities of life such as housing and food – for all. We invite you to join us as we examine how current models are creating systemic issues of inequality and, through collaboration with other organizations and community partners, develop solutions that are innovative, practical, and centered on the communities in need.
As the end of the year approaches, you can give to expand access to justice at an unprecedented level across the state. Every day, thousands of people across Massachusetts face civil legal crises such as eviction, child custody, and domestic violence. As civil, not criminal cases, these litigants are not guaranteed free representation. With many unable to afford an attorney on their own and civil legal aid underfunded and overwhelmed, unrepresented litigants are often left behind to fend for themselves.
But we believe a better system is possible.
The virtual Court Service Center that we are working to build with the Courts and our technology partners will allow anyone with an internet connection to access critical resources to guide them through the legal process. We envision a new system that empowers unrepresented litigants to advocate for themselves and stand up for their rights!
Please join us in this effort and make your tax-deductible gift today to ensure everyone can access the help they need to stay safe, healthy, and housed.
