The Lackawanna and Luzerne County Medical Societies are welcoming volunteers to make fabric masks for hospitals and physicians as we prepare for COVID-19. Orders for standard/disposable masks are on backorder and many healthcare workers are finding themselves in the position of hoarding and reusing masks as they continue to provide care to public. According to the CDC, homemade fabric masks are an option when protective supplies are not available.
Donations will go toward mask materials. Final products will be delivered to thos most in need in Lackawanna and Luzerne Counties.
The Medical Heritage Foundation is a 501(c)(3) affiliate of the county medical society.
