Jan 2016, my brother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer and specifically given 6 months to live. Since then, he has gone through chemo week after week, surgerys to remove the metastasized tumors, more chemo, and more finding out the the cancer is in different places of the body (ie brain, lymph nodes, etc). My brother kicked cancers ass, but unfortunately there is a type of cancer, Neuroendocrine carcinoma, that is rare and does not have enough research on it. It is so rare that he is part of a current case study/trial. 4 years later and my brother is still fighting cancer, going to chemo every week, fighting for his life until they come out with a cure. If anyone is a fighter, it is my brother. He does not only fight for his life, but he fights to help others view and to see life in his lens. What is that lens? Give and do it without the expecation of recieving. Give because it's a pleasure. Whether it's with time, money, etc, when you give, you are doing something bigger than yourself. So we (the YoniStrong Team) are following that motto and putting together a team to run in his honor to raise awareness towards research/curing cancer.. Anything helps and even if you can't give with money, you gave with your time by reading this. Anyone who wants to join the team and run this 10K is more than welcomed. Please email me at LDassa64@gmail.com. Oh and one last thing... When in doubt, MashCancer it out!
