On August 8, 2018, we welcomed our son, Martin, in to this world and our family. Martin has down syndrome. He is a true warrior who fought through a nicu stay and who continues to fight other obstructions including a heart defect and upcoming surgery, which he will no doubt conquer. Martin loves cuddling, long walks and playing with his sister, who rarely leaves his side. He fills our days with love and smiles.
I plunge so he and other future Special Olympic athletes can keep doing the things they love and not be limited by their adorable extra chromosome.
Thank you for visiting our page! <3 Amy

2018 was a special year for the Packy McGowan and Joe Panatera families. Both families welcomed the birth of their newest additions, Marty and Reese, respectively, a month apart. Marty and Reese were born with Down Syndrome. This diagnosis brought the families and friends of Marty and Reese, both from the Southside, together with the single goal of supporting these two individuals by raising funds via established organizations.
Along with co-chairs Packy McGowan, Joe Panatera, Matt Hayes, and James Letz, Amy McGowan, Deanna Panatera, Paula Hayes, and Natacha Fahey welcome your support as we raise money for the 2019 Chicago Special Olympics Polar Plunge, which will take place on March 3, 2019.
Please support Marty and Reese's Warriors by donating or participating as a plunger on our team.
Thank you on behalf of the co-chairs of Marty and Reese's Warriors.
