The Marsh Harbour Volunteer Fire + Rescue department was launched in the 1960s with a single available water tank truck, and has since grown to be a valuable fire-fighting asset wholly supported by the area business and residential community. On 1 September 2019, Hurricane Dorian severely damaged the fire station and trashed the department's five fire engines: since then, five engines have been donated by various Florida communities and fire departments. Restoring the station -- which lost all of its overhead doors and an entire wall -- is the objective of this new raise: your generous donation of money and labour is much appreciated.
The Briland Modem Fund is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 community resource for the Out Islands of The Bahamas, and 100 percent of all donations are directed to the programs being supported. Since 1999, the Fund has supported projects benefitting Harbour Island, Eleuthera, Abaco, Grand Bahama, Cat Island, Exuma, Crooked Island, Acklins, Inagua and Mayaguana.
