Mark Griswold and Diana Fields are running on behalf of the Boulder Valley Rotary club, which has been a supporter of Mental Health Partners and the services they provide within the community. We want to continue that support through running the Boulder Skyline Traverse Challenge to help with the suicide awareness and prevention campaign to achieve the goal of zero suicides in Boulder County. Running the Boulder Skyline Traverse is a challenge and can be a metaphor for life. It has its ups and downs. It’s easy at times and can also be a struggle. But completing it is a rewarding experience. We hope this will help bring the issue of suicide to light in a positive way, helping those struggling with depression to get the help they need and helping survivors destroy the stigma of talking about suicide.
This issue also is personal for Diana Fields as mental health issues have touched her family. They have lost two family members to suicide (an uncle and brother-in-law).
