S.H.E. stands for Strong, Healthy, and Empowered! SHE is a skill development program for young women (age 14 – 21) that focuses on building a positive understanding of self-worth and confidence by focusing on the subject areas of Living, Feeling & Thinking Healthy.
Areas of focus include:
• Life Skills Classes
• Healthy Eating
• Physical Activity
• Mental Health Services
• Vocational Assistance
• Supervised Mentorship
• Community-Based Service Projects
Transportation and meals are provided. The program takes place each Tuesday and Wednesday from 5pm - 8pm until May.
Summer employment is provided for 6 weeks. Young women who meet all program requirements will be eligible for employment.
Where will your dollars go?
Meal Package - $10
Support a meal for a S.H.E. participant for one night.
Hygiene Package $25
Covers personal hygiene products for the S.H.E. participants.
Self-Care Package $50
Provides an opportunity for a participant to get their hair done or get a mani/pedi.
School Supplies Package - $100
Covers costs for school supplies for a girl in the program.
Clothing Package - $150
There is a huge need for proper clothing when it comes to the participants going
to school or to work in our Summer Employment Program. Purchasing this
package not only helps build the girl’s wardrobe, it improves their self-esteem.
Empowerment Camp Package - $200
S.H.E. Empowerment Camp kicks off at the beginning of every program year.
The girls spend the weekend at Gull Lake where we have workshops, team
building exercises, and tons of fun! This donation would cover the costs of one
participant to attend camp.
