I am asking for your sponsorship for our “Homeless For A Night” event on Friday, April 3rd. When Hurricane Katrina hit the City of New Orleans, I was on my honeymoon. My husband and I were in New York City. We, like so many others, lost everything. Our gracious Lord walked through it all with us, and we saw His hand of mercy upon our lives. For about six months, we lived with a beautiful couple who opened their home to our family of four. We both lost our houses to Katrina. So, I guess you can say we started our married life homeless. In January 2020, I started my third year as an employee of the New Orleans Mission. I’ve witnessed first hand the dedicated staff reach out daily to help those in need. The New Orleans Mission is more than just a place to find food, clothing, and shelter; it’s a place where broken men and women can come and recover their lives through the power of the cross! Our services not only minister to the practical needs of people, but we also encourage them toward recovery and re-engagement into society. As the bookkeeper, I see first hand the financial needs of our ministry. We need the help of kind, generous people to faithfully walk alongside us so that we can continue to help people experience freedom from homelessness. Every day, we show them a way out of abuse, addiction, sex trafficking, and hopelessness. Won’t you help us? My goal for this event is $1000. Your generous gift will not only help me reach my goal, but 100% of the funds raised will help countless men and women take advantage of our services. God bless!
