We're teaming up with The Hartford Rib Off for the first ever MARC Madness Kickball Tournament!

Remember those summer days – meeting up with the neighborhood kids and playing kickball until the sun came down? We sure do! This exciting event will be two days, ending on the day of the The Hartford Rib Off (BBQ competition).

HARTFORD RIB OFF: 6/15/19 │ 11:30AM-5PM │ Hartford Riverfront │ $65

Proceeds from the tournament benefit unfunded and underfunded programs that are critical to MARC’s mission to empower people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) to make their own life choices and aid in the fulfillment of their dreams - through employment, housing, social, and community involvement and advocacy.

The HRO is a two-day event and starts with a kickoff party/beer tasting/BBQ wing sampling with some of CT’s best food trucks. Day two is the Kansas City Barbeque contest and includes amazing BBQ, unlimited beer, cocktails, live music and activities for the kids. Proceeds from the HRO will benefit MARC, as well as Mayor Mike’s Foundation for Kids and the Hartford Rib Off Scholarship Fund.

What is MARC?

For over 60 years MARC Community Resources has provided support and services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) and their families and caregivers throughout Middlesex and Greater Hartford Counties. Our mission is to empower people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) to make their own life choices and aid in the fulfillment of their dreams - through employment, housing, social, and community involvement and advocacy.

As a contracted private provider with the CT Department of Developmental Services (DDS) and struggling to work within the constraints of state budget cuts, MARC must rely on donations, grants and fundraising efforts to continue providing quality services to some of the most vulnerable in our community.

OUR MISSION

Empower people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) to make their own life choices and aid in the fulfillment of their dreams -through employment, housing, social, and community involvement and advocacy.

OUR VISION

We envision that all people with disabilities become integral and celebrated members of the community.
