My name is Melissa Stolper and I am a Sudbury resident, mother of 3, and Aruna's Place parent. I have been training to run the Boston Marathon for a 2nd year in a row and I am honored to dedicate my 2019 Boston Marathon run to Max McCormick, my daughter's 4 year old friend who tragically passed away on January 20, 2019. I am running for the Max McCormick Memorial Foundation, a non-profit created to honor Max's dream of being a firefighter. The Max McCormick Memorial Foundation will serve as a bridge between firefighters and their communities, addressing needs within the community as identified by local fire departments. To learn more about Max's Foundation, please see the Facebook page at: https://bit.ly/2Te6zmn
My Marathon run marks the beginning of a partnership between the Max McCormick Memorial Foundation and SMILE Mass, a Sudbury based non-profit dedicated to helping families raising children or adults with disabilities enjoy happy, healthy memories through vacation and recreation experiences. One motto of SMILE Mass is "we run for those who can't" so it is my privilege to run on behalf of Max. SMILE Mass has generously offered to give the Max McCormick Memorial Foundation all of the donations collected by my run. To learn more about SMILE Mass, please visit http://www.smilemass.org.
Thank you for supporting my run. Your encouragement will help me get through the tough moments! If you feel so inclined, I would greatly appreciate a pledge in any amount, no matter how small or large. SMILE Mass is a 501(c)(3) so all donations are tax-deductible.
Thank you for helping me keep Max's legacy alive!
