Two of my passions in life are global health and running. I am combining the two next month when I head to Uganda to run the Ugandan Half Marathon to raise money for Global Emergency Care (GEC). Some of you may know I have worked with this organization for several years now, and I strongly believe in the work they are doing. I have spent a lot of time in Uganda seeing first hand the amazing progress that has been made in bringing life-saving emergency care to Uganda over the past 10 years. GEC works in collaboration with the local healthcare and education systems to provide advanced training in emergency medicine to local providers. These competent emergency medicine practitioners have saved countless lives, and the program expands every year. Donations to GEC go towards funding the education of these practitioners from books and school fees, to simulation training and continuing education. Thank you so much for supporting me!
