Three years ago, I attended a 5k walk with a group called RacingExtinction. After the race, there was a tent set up to adopt elephants. I flipped through the book and found Malkia, which means Queen in Swahili. The poor elephant was just a little baby when her mom died. Malkia was rescued by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Malkia has taught me about her land in Kenya and the increased poaching taking place. An elephant is brutally killed by poachers and human wildlife conflict every 15 minutes. In an effort to save her land and her friends, I'm running to support wildlife conservancy projects to keep Kenya's majestic animals from going extinct. My goal is to visit Africa next year and see the results of the projects as they continue to fight against poaching and protect the natural world. In advance, thank you for sharing your love for all wildlife through donations . To learn more, check out LewaSafari Marathon or check out the videos of the baby elephants!
