On Sunday, March 17th, I will be running the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon! I am excited to be able to run 13.1 miles in this great city. As part of my New Years goals I wanted to both challenge myself and give back to the community. As such, I am raising $2500 for "NAC kids" who reside in NYC.
Who are "NAC kids"? They are some of NYC's most vulnerable children: those who have experienced or are at risk of abuse or neglect, live in poverty, and have a profound disability or chronic illness AND fortunately, the nonprofit New Alternatives for Children (NAC) is helping them all.
I witnessed firsthand the difference NAC's work has on these children's lives through volunteering at the NAC Kids Olympics where I had the chance to interact with both the parents and their kids. You can learn more by watching the video above and visiting nackidscan.org.
I know there are a lot of great charitable organizations around the world, but I wanted to start with one closer to home. I appreciate any donations and support to NAC as part of my journey.
