The Manhattan Emergency Shelter, Inc. (MESI) has assited the Riley County homeless population since 1985. Currently, they provide a safe place for homeless men, women, and children to stay while helping them find other community resources, such as employment, housing or financial assistance.
Due to the coronavirus outbreak, the items they need to run efficiently have greatly depleted. One of their largest fundraisers, the annual Bag Lady Auction scheduled for April 25, has been cancelled in order to remain consistent with government recommendations. By donating, you can help MESI purchase these necessary supplies and nonperishable food items. Help us help people who use MESI's resources feel more comfortable during their stay!
The video above, created by Nick Heter in 2015, provides a more in-depth example of how you can help! You can learn more about MESI and other ways to volunteer or donate through their website: http://www.mesikansas.org/about-us.html
