There are so many reasons we want to participate in the 2019 Dancing with the Michigan Stars...
First, we want to DO something that will help other families not have to go through what our good friends, The Carr Family, went through when they lost their little guy, Chad, to DIPG, a monster of a disease that currently has no cure. The money Cooper and I raise for the foundation will go to research and one day down the road, the diagnosis of DIPG will no longer claim the lives of the innocent.
Second, The ChadTough Foundation is near and dear to our hearts. I met Chad's mom, Tammi, 8 years ago actually when Chad was just 8 weeks old. Tammi and I were both volunteering at our oldest boys (Cade and CJ) kindergarten Pow Wow, a Thanksgiving celebration for the classes. Little did we know that our paths would continue to cross, so much that we ironically moved across the street from each other just a few short years later.
Chad and my youngest, Cooper (now 7) became fast friends and best buddies as did all of our kids. When Tammi first asked if we would do the Dancing with the Stars, of course I was nervous! Cooper didn't hesitate for a second! Cooper immediately thought of his best buddy and how they loved to get their dance on! When I think about being nervous, I counteract those thoughts with thinking about Chad's laugh and his sense of humor and his smile. I think about all the silly things Chad and Cooper did together and how I wish he was still here.
We want to dance so other children that have DIPG, like Chad, will grow to experience friendships, memories and a good life. We want to dance so that Chad knows we are still here thinking of him and he is still making an impact on this earth today. We are dancing for all kids with DIPG! We are dancing for our family. We want them to know that you should have a purpose in all that you do. We hope you will get involved in The ChadTough Foundation by DOing something too!
Please share this and support our efforts in reaching our goal for the Michigan Dancing with the Stars effort for the ChadTough Foundation.
