Make Music Day is a part of an international movement bringing free, community-wide, outdoor musical celebrations to more than 800 cities every year on June 21st.
In 2018, the Arts Council seized the opportunity to demonstrate Hartford’s vibrant culture by bringing this festive event to our city. Over the past two years, Make Music Hartford has grown and become an annual rendezvous where musicians, community partners, and audiences unite and celebrate through music.
Make Music Hartford is an opportunity for all to simply experience music: join a jam session, perform on a sidewalk, in the park or in the lobby of your building, join a kazoo parade, take an harmonica lesson or just sit back and listen!
This year, in addition to dozens of performances throughout the day, we are bringing back our participatory Spotlight Events: find a full list on our website!
