Make-A-Wish Metro New York is proud to have been chosen by the New York Road Runners as an Official Charity Partner of the 2020 United Airlines NYC Half. This is your chance to participate in a run that begins in Prospect Park over the Manhattan Bridge and through Time Square while spreading the mission of Make-A-Wish. The five dedicated runners supporting our mission will complete 13.1 mile course on March 15, 2020 and strive to raise more than $10,000 for our wish kids.
Make-A-Wish’s mission is that together, we create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. A wish isn’t just a nice, heartwarming experience. It’s a necessity that gives kids the mental stamina to face their illness and fight it. Wishes have proven physical and emotional benefits that can give children with critical illnesses a higher chance of survival. Every 20 minutes a child is diagnosed with a critical illness. Every one of these kids needs a wish to give them strength and help them heal. Whatever the odds, whatever the obstacles ... wishes find a way to make the world better.
To date, Make-A-Wish Metro and Western New York has granted over 14,000 wishes to children in the five boroughs of New York City, Nassau county and 17 counties in the Buffalo and Rochester areas!
Join our team that is running to make wishes come true!
