Dear Family & Friends,
Sean and I are excited to announce that on November 3rd, 2019 we will attempt to run the NYC marathon. This will be Sean’s 8th marathon and at age 61, my first! Our run will be in support of Make-A-Wish® Metro New York, raising money to grant the wishes of children with critical illnesses. I am in my 40th year in the travel industry and Sean in his 9th. Travel is the number ONE wish children and their families request. Our company, WTH, has been supporting Make-A-Wish for 5+ years now. With the support of our fellow employees, our customers and our friends both in and outside of our wonderful industry, we have raised over $1 MM for this worthwhile charity. Make-A-Wish is a charity that does not discriminate on one's race, religion, color, sex or medical infliction.
Make-A-Wish is more than fulfilling a child’s wish; it is about helping children feel stronger, more energetic and better able to deal with a critical illness. A recent study of medical professionals, volunteers and Make-A-Wish alumni demonstrated the power a wish has to help children battle against their illnesses. Families return to a sense of normalcy and replace fear with happiness; children feel physically better and are more willing to cooperate with treatment and overall, their quality of life improves.
Our goal is to raise $26,200 - $1000 for mile for each mile we run, in support of this great cause. No donation is too small!
Completing a marathon is an intensely personal experience that comes from years of hard work and dedication. My middle son Sean is graciously going to run at my slow speed and help me achieve both a personal goal and raise money for a charity we are passionate about. We thank you in advance for helping us grant wishes and increase awareness of Make-A-Wish.
Brad & Sean
