United States Marine Corps 15th Commandant Major General Ben Hebard Fuller was born in Big Rapids, Michigan Feburary 1870- died June 1937.
General fuller was Commandant from July 1930 to March 1934.
The General was in Phillipine American War, the Boxer Rebellion, the Battle of Tientsin, Banana Wars, the Occupation ot the Dominican republic and the Occupation of Haiti.
Highly decorated , the general led has troops through some of the worst battles in the late 19th century into the early 20th century before World War 1.
Genral Fullers family were some of the first settlers in what would become Big Rapids, a triving lumber community.
This memorial is to honor him for his service to our great country.
It will be placed in Big Rapids, at Holland Veterans Memorial for all to see.
