I’m training for my first race, the Door County Half Marathon, and am hoping to parlay my blisters into some money for Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS). Over the last year or so, running has become my favorite way to unwind mentally and test myself physically. More recent, I discovered BBBS as an opportunity to support and empower kids in the Madison community. I’m asking you to consider donating to this incredible cause!
I am fortunate to come from a privileged upbringing. I grew up in a two-parent household, always knew there was food at home, and had teachers and coaches who challenged me and kept an eye toward my future even when I didn’t. Unfortunately, you don’t choose your circumstances and not eery kid is so lucky. BBBS connects kids with mentors in the community, so the kids have an advocate on their side to navigate life’s challenges and help them reach their potential.
