Wouldn't it be a game changer to have a simple, scientifically validated, spiritually sourced tool, that can be shared to relieve anyone's stress? What if this tool also produced a state of harmony and flow, that could lead to better life choices? Wouldn't that be an amazing contribution? Our team is asking you to help us to do just that, in a study we want to start as soon as it is safe.
In 2017, we at the Prabhupada Research Institute for Integrative Medicine (PRIIMe) embarked on our first study to quanitfy the link between science and spiritual sound vibration. Remarkably, the results were so convincing that this study resulted in the publication of an article about the auspicious effects on heart health from audibly chanting the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra after a short 20 minute training session on the simple technique of vibrating the Mahamantra with their own voice. The reference for that publication is-

I did not know that the beneficial impact of this vocal meditation practice was generating higher quality heart wave patterns until I consulted a pioneer and expert in the field of heart rate variability. He took a look at our findings, and told me that all the other meditative processes he had analyzed thus far would take many months for the beneficial effect to manifest. He was in utter disbelief when I told him that the increases of healthy heart wave rhytms occured with only 30 minutes of vibrating this Mahamantra at the very first try. Although heart rate also dropped with the placebo, the quality of heart rhythms were not supportive of finer controls on the brain whereas when the same person switched to the Mahamantra the finer quality of heart rhythms was unmasked. This was an insight into the power of this particular mantra and seems to validate the Vedas mention that the Maha mantra enables such increases in heart-brain coherence through an embedded universally healing passcode. This appears to lead to better states of well-being, integration and self-regulation, suggesting its utility in the prevention of many common stress-induced lifestyle diseases.
By expanding the Maha-Mantra studies in a scientifically rigorous way, we believe it will allow for the Maha Mantra to begin to be prescribed by the medical community and maybe even shared in after-school programs. We believe the Maha Mantra is worthy enough to be alternative option to other modalities like Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).
As a Founder and Board Member, I am happy to announce that this next phase of our research is happening in India at the All India Institute for Medical Sciences, and we could have another publishable study within 6 months, supporting the Maha Mantra as a therapeutic intervention!
We have the computers, the measuring devices, the travel ticket, the training manual, the legal agreements, the protocol, and the good will. The project is slated to start this April and we need just $3000 US dollars to get it started when I travel there in April to train the research team. $3000 is not much compared to all that has been put in for this to date and would cover the honoraria so that we can pay the research participants as is standard practice in professional settings. It would be a huge service at this potent timing when the world is starting to respect research validated spritual practices and there is such a palpaple greater need for the heart and mind to work together. It's clear more people in the world today need greater access to learning research validated tools. This empowers them to take more responsibility for their attitudes, thoughts and power of self regulation leading to sustainable inner peace and strength to make better choices.
Our project will reinforce the answer the question: Does the ancient Vedic practice of Audible Mantra Repetition by lay people beneficially impact Heart Rate Variability (HRV), and the functionality of the brain, necessary for proactive well being and health?
We believe that precise application of this easy meditation practice daily can improve its impact on personal and global spiritual wellness, by lowering stress and many harmful processes which lead to heart disease, stroke, cancers, depression, anxiety and diabetes (non-communicable diseases). It can also potentially lead to better lifestyle choices by helping people raise their consciousness up to the mode of goodness, as an earlier Maha Mantra study has shown.
Time is short! Funds are needed urgently to fund the honoraria so that we can enroll 40 participants in the All India Institute of Medical Sciences study. Money over the 3k amount if raised will go to pay the research staff in India, and if there is even more, we will be able to move forward on a second US study, for 40 people.
We welcome any amount above ten dollars. By donating 70 dollars or more, you are sponsoring at least one volunteering study participant in India.
Your donation to this project is all about supporting personal and global well-being through the method of audible mantra repetition, and achieving a heart-brain synergy that effectively cuts down stress and increases mental clarity in the public at large.
Also if you know anyone who would like to donate, any amount, they can also send it via Paypal, directly to our 501c3 nonprofit here: PriimeMeditationStudies@gmail.com (please cut and paste to avoid typos as it goes directly into the PRIIME account). If they need an invoice we would be happy to send it, as well as sending a 501c3 Donation receipt.
We send all prayers and wishes that you are safe and healthy in this unprecedented time of a communicable disease pandemic!
