This has been a challenging year for many, including the Magnolia Library & Community Center. Central to our mission is bringing people together, and we have missed hosting club meetings, community dinners, theatrical productions, political events, craft markets, blood drives, and much more. The sacrifice of being together for the safety of our community was an especially large one for us.
While the library has been relatively quiet, we have undertaken some major renovation projects. We are in the midst of a complete overhaul of our bathrooms, which will end with their being handicapped accessible. We have also begun residing the building on the Lexington Avenue side. These projects are necessary to maintain and advance a building that is now more than 130 years old.
These projects, of course, require substantial resources, and for the past year most of our traditional income streams have been stopped. It is to support these projects along with other needed infrastructure improvements that we are launching our first capital campaign in recent memory. We are always amazed by and grateful for the support we get from the Magnolia community and are confident that you will come through for us again.
It is with much humility and gratitude that we ask that you please consider supporting this campaign by donating today.
We wish you and your loved ones health and safety and look forward to coming together again in the very near future.
