In 2019, I finished my first Owl Ride on behalf of Jackson Chance. The experience was so meaningful to me that I am once again riding to support families who have newborns in the NICU.
On August 22nd and 23rd, I'll once again ride to support the Jackson Chance Foundation and their mission to enrich the lives of families with babies in the NICU by allowing them to spend more time with their critically ill baby. As you all know, our youngest son Charles Axel was born two months early and spent 5 weeks in the NICU. We were fortunate to visit him not only daily but multiple times a day while we balanced our lives with Leo & Jacques at home.
The NICU Transportation program removes the financial burden of parking fees, giving every family the opportunity to be with their child each and every day. Jackson Chance allows that flexibility and those critical moments with your NICU baby to every family at Lurie and Prentice hospitals. Currently, the Jackson Chance program benefits babies at Lurie Children's Hospital and Northwestern Prentice Women's Hospital. The foundation is working to expand their outreach to other NICU's in the near future! THANK YOU ALL for your support.
2020 has certainly been a year of "new normal" and I'm excited to get back to training for 111 miles!
