This August I will be competing in my first ever Flyathlon! The Flyathlon is essentially a triathlon, however the competition is running and fly fishing. You get points based on the speed that you run, the kind of fish you catch, and the length of fish that you catch. (Hopefully my fish will be bigger than the one pictured above! That was my first fish I ever caught last summer!) In addition to the event being a blast, we are raising money for an excellent nonprofit, Running Rivers. Running Rivers is a Colorado nonprofit corporation that has been organized and is operated for charitable and educational purposes, in particular, facilitating the connection of people with healthy freshwater ecosystems through novel recreational events, educational activities and on-the-ground projects. For more information you can visit their website at www.runningrivers.org. As mentioned before it is a competition and I will be competing to beat the defending champion from last year, Andrew. My goal is to raise at least $400. Any donation to my indiviudal race registration is much appreciated. Thank you and I look forward to sharing the results with you!
