Hi guys! This #GivingTuesday, we're asking all of our fans, friends, and family to make a difference in the lives of homeless youth by supporting My Friend's Place. For 31 years, My Friend's Place has assisted and inspired homeless youth to build self-sufficient lives. My Friend's Place serves young people in Los Angeles between the ages of 12 and 15, as well as their children and animal companions, by providing a wide range of services—from food, clothing, and showers, to creative arts workshops and employment or education assistance, to parenting support and health programming.
For more than three years, our family has been volunteering at My Friend's Place. We've hosted carnivals, served lunches, donated backpacks and supplies, and helped with special events. We often bring friends to help out as well, and we were even honored as Champions at their 2019 gala! We've met so many inspiring young people at My Friend's Place, many of them right around our age, who are going through some of the hardest challenges a person can go through. We realized that homelessness can happen to anyone and that many of the stereotypes about homeless people were wrong—and we wanted to do something about it.
This #GivingTuesday, we're helping My Friend's raise $30,000 for housing support for homeless youth—but we can't do it without you. Your gift, even if it's just a few dollars, will have a huge impact. Plus, a generous member of our community has offered to match all #GivingTuesday donations this year, which means your gift will automatically be DOUBLED! Together, we can help end youth homelessness, one young person at a time.
