The McCallum High School Cinematic Arts program is an award winning, four-year, script-to-screen program, where students explore the creative and technical aspects of moving images and production. These public high school students write, cast, edit, and produce their own films using professional cameras and film editing software. Our student films have been in SXSW, Lake Travis Film Festival, Boulder International Film festival and more.
Due to the COVID pandemic, the program will be following a remote learning curriculum until further notice. That does not mean that students won't be able to create films, but we need your help. The new protocol for safety means smaller than normal film crews. In order to still provide a meaningful curriculum for approximately 120 students, the program needs to purchase more equipment for the additional crews.
We have set an emergency fundraising goal of $8,000 in order to purchase the needed equipment. All equipment will continue to be used by the students when it is safe to return to the in-school setting.
We would be so grateful for your support and generosity.
