The event aims to bring awareness and resources to essential efforts to give blind or visually impaired children and adults the power to live more independently. In the Blindfold Challenge participants run in teams of two, one wearing a blindfold and the other guiding. They run alongside sighted runners in 5K races such as the on the historic Marathon course, to experience and raise awareness the capabilities of people who are blind or visually impaired.
