On August 12, 2018 our beautiful daughter Mabel Helen was born sleeping. I had a seemingly healthy and uneventful pregnancy. Even after she was born, there were no medical answers as to why this happened. She was absolutely perfect. She looked just like our other two daughters, but with dark hair like me. I like to think she had my dark eyes too.
The hospital staff took some photos of us with her. It wasn't until after we got home that I learned about Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep, an organization that provides free professional photography services to bereaved parents. For some reason I was drawn to their website. I searched our zip code, but no photographers came up. Out of curiosity, I searched a lot broader and found there weren't very many photographers in our state at all. After looking around the site a little, I also learned that one of the services this organization offers is digital photo retouching. We contacted the hospital to see if they still had the digital versions of our images. And they did! We've since sent them to NILMDTS and can't wait to see how they turn out.
In honor of Mabel we appreciate anything you are able to contribute to help support this amazing, caring organization and the work that they do.
We are planning on taking some of the excellent resources to local hospitals to raise awareness of the services provided by Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep.
