Lydia's House provides women in crisis a transitional living experience that will help heal their soul through the love of Jesus Christ. We assist women that choose to leave an environemnt that is threatening their life and safety; giving them an opportunity to take their life back. Lydia's House, along with it's collaboration partners, will teach self-sufficiency and acclimate each of them to living indepentdently within the community. This collaborative approach to empowerment is the keystone to developing a healthy future for the precious women that will walk through our doors. The "Make It Work" program and Betterment Model includes personal development, vocational training, substance abuse counseling, interpersonal skill building, community involvement and independent living skills. Being FAITH based, we believe we have a moral imperative to help those in need and improve the human condition. The need was so urgent that the Executive Director, Susan E. Sanders opened her home to women that were homeless, addicted and hurting that desired to get free, clean and sober! With multiple women now living in her home and women on a wait list needing and wanting to get the help Lydia's House provides, our need to finish renovation on the beautiful home that was gifted to us is of the utmost importance. It is imperative to continue helping women that are seeking to change their lives. Our goal is to give women a HAND UP, not a hand out!
