Our Holiday Challenge for #GivingTuesday
For over two years, Lunch On Me (LOM) has been consistently distributing organic food throughout Skidrow, Los Angeles’ most vulnerable community. Supported with consistent volunteer involvement, LOM’s goal is to distribute 10,000 meals a month. As LOM has developed, our mission has grown from simply feeding those in need, to creating the Love Without Reason movement which is a bimonthly gathering meant to create a harmonic community filled with love and purpose.
To maximize weekly production, LaRayia Gaston, LOM’s founder and selfless activist, has begun running one of the programs from her home, in hopes of giving to more people. We are now positioned to switch gears and expand into our first brick-and-mortar location.
The funds raised in this challenge will go towards securing a permanent kitchen, yoga studio and coffee shop managed by LOM and staffed by members within the homeless community.
The way the competition works:
GoFundMe holiday challenge is an annual fundraising competition that allows donors to partner with Lunch On Me(LOM) through peer-to-peer fundraising in order to help achieve our goal.
GoFundMe also throws challenges our way that will allow us the opportunity to raise up to an extra $300,000 in cash and prizes!
By creating this simple participation model, the competition amplifies charitable giving while spreading awareness during the holiday season.
