At Orchard Park EMS we strive to have the very best equipment to treat our patients. Over the past month we have been field testing Stryker's Lucas 3 Chest Compression System. This mechanical CPR device performs chest compressions on patients who are in cardiac arrest at a consistent rate and depth that no human can achieve. During the time that we have been testing this device we have used it on three cardiac arrest patients. Two of these patients Regained Pulses and were transported Alive to the hospital. Other benefits to using a mechanical CPR device are their ability to free up Paramedics to perform other lifesaving interventions such as administering cardiac medications and inserting advanced airway devices.
Due to the limited number of providers that we have, we feel that if it were not for the Lucas 3 Chest Compression System, we would not have been able to save these two patients. We are asking for your help to raise funds to purchase this device so that we can save more cardiac arrest patients.
