Summer is almost here! During the warm, beautiful days the residents of our twelve homes look forward to going on day trips and spending time out in the sunshine. Day trips are a wonderful opportunity for our residents to meet members of their community and make new friends. It helps them gain self-confidence and feel accepted and included.
Taking our residents who are developmentally disabled out is very costly – so we are not able to do it as often as we would like. One paid staff has to accompany every three residents who attend. Our residents love to go to San Francisco and see the sights, Monterey to enjoy the aquarium, the wharf and beaches and lots of sights in between. In the past, some residents have gone camping; some even enjoyed a trip to Disneyland. Our residents appreciate mini vacations as much as you do.
Your donation will allow our residents to broaden their world and spend a day in the sunshine. Please consider making a donation to help our residents enjoy their summer!
