Hey guys its Noelle here!
In June 2019, I have the amazing opportunity to travel to Lower Brule and Pine Ridge South Dakota to help provide free veterinary care to a community that desperately needs it! I'm just so excited to be able to be a part of something that not only is going to help me prepare for my future career but help others in such a rewarding way! What I really need is your help in helping me raise money to help provide this awesome care by donating. Your contribution will go to various things like:
$10.00 vaccines for one dog or cat
$25.00 to treat one dog for life-threatening tick-borne illness
$35.00 for anesthetic and surgery supplies to provide spay/ neuter for one dog/ cat
$75.00 for life-saving parvovirus treatment for one puppy
$100 for spay/neuter, vaccination, and wellness care for one dog or cat
$250.00 for an emergency surgery and aftercare for one seriously injured dog or cat
I'm volunteering becuase I want to be able to help provide and teach others that animal care is so important. I also think this would be a great way to work with and learn from people that I otherwise would probably never meet. I've been striving to gain more clinical experience in order to help me prepare for my coming 3rd year of veterinary school and also my future career and I think this is such a great way to do that becuase while I'm learning and bettering myself, I'm getting to help clients learn more about how to best help their pets and we're helping better our patients too!
To learn more about RAVS read the statment below:
In June of 2019, RAVS staff and volunteers will travel to South Dakota visiting the Lower Brule and Pine Ridge Reservations. The team of roughly 30 veterinary students and 15 professional volunteers will offer free spay/ neuter and wellness care to more than 1,000 animals in these remotes communities where regular veterinary care is not available. In addition to wellness services, RAVS’ volunteers will care for animals with a wide range of health concerns including puppies suffering from parvovirus and distemper infections and older animals suffering from multiple infirmities. We will help animals with old traumatic injuries and festering wounds, returning them to a happier life with their family. While providing this care, our volunteers and staff will be educating the family on animal care and public health, helping to make the community a better place for the animals and the people of Lower Brule and Pine Ridge. https://www.lowerbrulesiouxtribe.com/ https://friendsofpineridgereservation.org/
