Love Runs is committed to help end human trafficking in the Metro Detroit Area.
What is human trafficking? Human trafficking is the modern form of slavery, with illegal smuggling and trading of people (including minors), for forced labor or sexual exploitation. ... The U.S. Justice Department estimates that 35,500–170,500 people are trafficked into the country every year.
Michigan is in the top states known for human trafficking in the US and it's happening right here in metro detroit. The average age of entry for human trafficking for girls is 12-14 and boys 9-12. One out of every three runaways is approached by a trafficker in the first 48 hours of being away from home. These statistics are shocking to me and we need to do what we can to protect our children from this horrific reality.
Please consider helping by making a donation. All funds raised stay local to Metro Detroit and will go directly to anti-trafficking initiatives that help in the awareness, prevention, rescue, and restoration of trafficking victims in our local area.
