On August 4th, an explosion rocked the port of Beirut, Lebanon, killing at least 160 people and injuring approximately 6,000. The blast severely damaged an already in-crisis Lebanon and displaced an estimated 300,000 of its people, 100,000 of them being children.
Families living in affected areas have been forced to seek temporary shelter with relatives and friends or in schools or other buildings. Hospitals have been largely affected, as the blast wiped out medical supplies and disabled cancer treatments for many of Beirut's children.
Lebanon’s children and their families are in dire need of our support. It is estimated that as many as 500,000 families may need assistance with immediate basic needs such as food, clothing, medical supplies, and shelter.
