ALS advocates worked to create an official annual Lou Gehrig Day across Major League Baseball that honors his legacy on the field and raises awareness about ALS throughout the world. Each year, June 2nd is designated as Lou Gehrig's Day. Answer ALS is proud to be listed as one of the official charities.
In an effort to raise further awareness, we will raffle this Lou Gehrig signed baseball from 1937. The original ball was auctioned in 2010 through Leland's and the signature was verified as authentic and enhanced. For every $50 contribution, you will be entered into a drawing for this rare baseball. For example, if you contribute $100, you would receive 2 entries and with $500, you would receive 10 entries. The raffle will start on May 13th and the winner will be drawn on July 4th, the day of Lou Gehrig's famous speech.
The ball is signed to "Lucky" and we wish everyone good luck in celebrating the man who considered himself the luckiest man on earth.
You do not have to donate to participate. You can add your name by "joining" in the link to the right of the baseball. By adding your name, you will also be entered for a single chance.
