September is Suicide Awareness Month and it couldn't be more timely. As we face an unprecedented public health crises and all of its consequences, transparent conversations about mental health couldn't be more critical. Samaritans has been leading these conversations and providing critical support to people in crisis for decades, but the non-profit urgently needs our generosity due to the cancellation of nearly all of its fundraising events.
The NY Times called the pandemic a "mental health crisis for parents." The last few months have definitely had their silver linings but they've also been isolating and filled with endless cooking, cleaning, caretaking, worry, and work. This month I commit to safeguarding time for my mental health by using the Peleton once a day. Please consider supporting my Samari-thon by make a donation of any size. Samaritans needs your help to continue their outreach to those in crisis, support groups for survivors of suicide loss, and political advocacy!
