The impacts from Covid-19 have been felt across the world and our Long Beach community has been impacted as well. Many in our community have been inflicted by this virus and our medical practitioners have been stretched to the limits helping keep our community healthy. Our economy has also suffered, impacting many of the small businesses that have brought us comfort over the years and individuals through the loss of income and the ability to provide essential food, hygiene items, and other basic items to their families.
Long Beach Leaders Deliver (LBLD) is a 100% volunteer effort organized to help alleviate some of these issues within the City of Long Beach. LBLD, powered by a team of motivated volunteers, will be partnering with the following local nonprofit organizations by supplying them with the food and toiletry items procured from local businesses:
· Long Beach Community Table
· Long Beach Unified School District (servicing three local shelters)
· The Long Beach AIDS Food Store
· LGBTQ Center
LBLD will also be providing pre-cooked meals to distribute to the staff of St. Mary Medical Center and Long Beach Memorial Hospital as part of this effort – bringing a little bit of additional comfort to those on the front lines. We hope you’ll consider supporting the LBLD project team as we are trying to raise $5,000 in support of the efforts above--- working to generate revenue for local restaurants, grocery stores, farmers’ markets and catering businesses that have been negatively impacted as a direct result of Covid-19.
If you could support our GoFundMe by making a donation and then sharing it with your network, we would greatly appreciate it. We understand money can be tight at this time, so please know that even a small gift of $5 will help us get closer to our goal!
Note: LBLD is a fund organized under Leadership Long Beach, a 501c(3) organization which makes your donation tax-deductible.
We thank you in advance for helping us support our most vulnerable communities,
The Long Beach Leaders Deliver Team
