Since the closure of schools due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, there has been a steep rise in recorded teen pregnancies in Lolgorian, and the entire country at large. Teenage girls, as young as 10 who get pregnant most times dropout of school; are stigmatized; are married off early or their schooling and family life is disrupted.
Being a stakeholder in the community, 501(c)(3) organization Cora Blue Fund was approached by the community & school leadership to come together and be part of the solution and we couldn’t be more proud to partner with the community members, leadership and government administration to find shortterm and longterm solutions to these challenges affecting so many young adults.
The inclusive programming will be educational and enrichment (socially distant) retreats structured into one week of impactful facilitated activities for all Lolgorian girls. Our first week begins September 7, 2020 and runs through September 11, 2020 for 100 local girls.
This is a pilot program, with your help we can continue to serve a second round of girls to follow.
We are asking for your help to raise the successes, abilities, and impact of this project, and in turn, build brighter futures for the young women of the Maasai community.
